Editorial policy
This page explains how stories on Daily Digital India are made. Stories are published under the name Daily Digital India Desk, the small team that runs the site.
Choosing stories
We pick changes that touch everyday digital life in India: a new payment rule, a security feature on Android, a shift in how people stream cricket. If a change does not affect readers in a practical way, we usually skip it.
Sources first
Every fact in a story comes from a source we name at the end of the story. We prefer primary sources, such as an NPCI or RBI circular, a company's own announcement or its help pages. When we rely on a news report instead, we say which one. When sources disagree, we say that too rather than picking the number that makes a better headline.
Our own words
We do not republish other outlets' articles. We take the facts, then write the story in our own structure and add something the source does not have: a worked example, a comparison, a checklist or a plain explanation of a technical term.
Checked before publishing
Every story is read and checked against its sources by an editor before it is published.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and show the date of the update at the top of the story. For a correction that changes the meaning of a story, we add a short note explaining what changed. To report an error, use our contact page.
What we do not do
- We do not accept payment for coverage, and we label any sponsored content clearly if we ever publish it.
- We do not promise financial returns or recommend investments.
- We do not write stories aimed at children.
